A Strong Commitment To Our Past Leads To The Highest Quality Advances For Our Future.
Looper Speech and Hearing Center was founded in 1969 as a memorial to Dr. John W. Looper Jr., Dalton’s first pediatrician. Much beloved by his young patients and parents alike, Looper died at the age of 42 in a light plane crash. One of Looper’s main priorities had been to find a way to meet the urgent need for speech and hearing services in our area. Looper Speech and Hearing was established following his death and has operated successfully for the past 40 years, providing a full range of communication services to our community.
The Center in its years of operations has provided well over two hundred thousand services to our community and touched the lives of one hundred thousand, or more, individuals within the region. In 2008 alone we provided financial assistance for 2,352 of the services. The Center is a full range Speech and Hearing Center and provides a full complement of services; including: Speech, Language, Voice and Swallowing evaluations and therapy, as well as, Audiological services, Industrial Services and Hearing Aid Sales and Services.
After forty years the Center is looking forward with anticipation, knowing that when individuals need us the most we will be here to serve.
